A queer fundraiser

Gay Nomad aims to raise money for the Strong Central Desert Grandmother’s Group of Mparntwe, Arrernte Country. We also wish to re-establish song-lines which run from Mparntwe’s female caterpillars (the MacDonell Ranges) all the way to Ngar-Go (Fitzroy). Please enjoy connecting to First Nations Elders, Traditional Owners, Storytellers, Songkeepers, Rainmakers, Lightning experts, Multidisciplinary Artists, Speakers, Emerging Elders, Young people, Poets, MC’s, Musicians, DJs and more. We can all connect via the therapeutic Arts & collaborate to keep our spirits strong in what will be a difficult year with this Referendum. Let’s prioritise #truthtelling

    About Me

Hi, I’m DJ Lost Dogs Homo from YAYPALM queer party (formerly Grouse Party in Melbourne 2007-2015) and I invite you to share in the fundraising efforts of Gay Nomad.

Gay Nomad pays homage to the herstoric relationship between local Traditional Owners and their non indigenous women, queer & non-binary allies. It’s time to raise some funds for the Grandmother’s Group during NAIDOC WEEK 2023, the theme of which is “For Our Elders”.

This event has now been rainchecked but Early bird tickets $20 for Adult Allies are still available and can be rendered as a donation to Grandmother’s Group: https://events.humanitix.com/gay-nomad-naidoc-week-for-our-elders

mob/concession/pension and all kids under 18 FREE.

Featuring speakers TBC for rainchecked date: Elaine Kngwarreye Peckham, Patricia Ansell-Dodds, Que Nakamarra Kenny, Ned Jampinjimpa Hargraves, and anyone of any age who wishes to speak out for our Elders, the mic will be open for Q&A.

We will be screening two short films as follows, Destiny in Alice from the CAAMA Collection (Ronin Films) and Starlady’s documentary Queen of The Desert by Alex Kelly.
